We recommend the drain field be at least 24 inches wide and 24 inches deep. You may calculate 2 linear feet per dog.

Example: 10 dogs equal 20 linear feet.

1. Place 1 to 1.5 inch size rock in first at a depth of 3 to 4 inches.
2. Place the drainpipe in and fill in around and over it with more rocks.
3. Cover the rock with about 3 inches of dirt.

If you place the drain field near a hedge or trees it will water and fertilize them. Do not place it near your garden. Digested waste from carnivorous animals may not be a safe fertilizer for food producing plants.

We recommend planting grass over the top of your drain field.
